Volunteer at the Y!

Volunteerism and giving

Take An Active Role For Our Community.

Volunteer at the YAcross the United States, more than 500,000 business leaders, community advocates, parents, teens and individuals who want to give back and support their neighbors volunteer at the Y. That's because we have the presence and partnerships to not just promise, but deliver positive, personal and social change.

With a focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, Y volunteers give men, women and children of all ages and from all walks of life the resources and support they need to be healthy, confident, connected and secure.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are an essential part of our YMCA organization. They multiply our effectiveness in the community and allow more people access to what the YMCA offers. There are so many ways to help and give back to the community. Please contact the YMCA for more information.

Opportunities include:

  • Giving to the YHelping with a Bulletin Board
  • Member Services
  • Helping with Special Events
  • Reading to a child in Child Watch
  • Helping with an Aerobics Class
  • Swim Lesson Assistant
  • Mailings to our Members
  • Youth Sports Coach

If you are interested in shaping the lives of the children in our community, contact Danielle McDaniel for more information. We need coaches for various days and times. Pick up a Volunteer application at the front desk.

The Y is a nonprofit like no other. Take an active role in strengthening our community.

The generosity of others is at the core of our existence. It is only through the support of public and private donors that we are able to give back to the communities we serve.

As the leading nonprofit for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y works side-by-side with our neighbors every day to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive through our financial assistance program. To do our important work, the Y relies on support from members, donors, volunteers and community leaders.

For information on how you can donate or to make a pledge, email Sarah Funkhouser or call (260) 668-3607.
